The word 'Orsini' is an Italian name that signifies family, quality, style and beauty that will stand the test of time. It is also an appropriate name for a jewellery collection that is predominantly sourced from Italy. The showroom is run by Sarah Hutchings - Director.

This boutique jewellery store is a great opportunity to showcase the jewellery that Sarah selects from European jewellery designers. Sarah also has an Orsini range of mainly diamond, gold jewellery as well as creating custom made engagement rings.

Sarah Hutchings

Director - Orsini Jewellers Ltd.

 

Sarah has had an interesting background working as a nurse and midwife for many years, then as a National Sales Manager for international pharmaceutical companies before finally travelling to Europe where she developed her passion and interest in fine european jewellery. Sarah has since been pursuing studies in jewellery & gemology.

Sarah also works part time as the General Manager of the New Zealand Gynaecological Cancer Foundation, a foundation dedicated to educate women about signs and symptoms of gynaecological cancers and to offer support.

To have true value, jewellery must be underpinned by quality. All the jewellery sold through Orsini Jewellers has been carefully scrutinized by a jeweller. Sarah is lucky enough to have the knowledge and advice from her father-in-law Peter Hutchings, who has been designing and making jewelery in New Zealand for the last 40 years. Every year Sarah plans to visit Italy and Europe to keep up to date with the industry trends and select more pieces for her collection. What is appealing about Sarah's collections is that there are only a few pieces brought in from each collection 'women love the fact that their friends won't copy and buy the same item'. The Pianegonda collection of jewellery is extensive and Sarah can order in pieces from Italy, however usually there is a delay of a few weeks. Sarah is also constantly updating the collection with new pieces.

Sarah also creates custom made engagement rings and gets inspiration from the designs she sees in Europe. Sarah is able to source diamonds of just about any shape and size, depending on availability. There is a careful consultation process finding out the customers budget and preferred design. Sarah is careful to ensure that the customer is absolutely satisfied before going ahead with the finished product. This may mean a cast is produced prior to going ahead with the final ring. That way any tweaks and changes can be made without too much difficulty.
