Some rings can be resized depending on the style. Custom designs or full-eternity rings may not be resizable. Please consult with us before purchase or resizing.
We do not accept returns or exchanges on custom-made or made-to-order jewellery. Items with a manufacturing fault will be repaired or replaced under the Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA).

We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, in-store EFTPOS, and WeChat Pay. All payments must be fully cleared before items are dispatched or collected.
We offer a range of flexible payment options, including layby with staged payments, split payments (for example, a 25% deposit with the balance payable on collection), and tailored finance arrangements for high-value bespoke orders. All finance options are subject to approval and must be arranged prior to order production.
Jewellery Repairs, Replacements & Aftercare
Simply visit us in-store and our team will be happy to assist. We offer a comprehensive range of after-sales services, including rhodium plating, ring resizing, stone replacement or resetting, chain and clasp repairs, soldering, polishing and cleaning, re-shanking and re-tipping of rings, pearl re-stringing, engraving, earring repairs, and more. We also recommend annual claw inspections to help ensure your stones remain secure.
Please note that shipping costs for international repair services are the responsibility of the customer.
White gold jewellery is finished with a rhodium plating to achieve its bright white appearance. As this plating naturally wears over time, we recommend re-plating every 12–24 months, depending on how frequently the piece is worn.
Insurance claims are made directly with your insurer, as the policy is held between you and your insurance provider. However, Orsini is happy to assist by providing supporting documentation such as itemised purchase receipts, insurance valuation certificates, repair assessments, or quotations required by your insurer.
If your jewellery requires repair following loss or damage, our team can also work with you and your insurer to assess the item and provide the necessary information to help facilitate the claims process.
Please note that claim approval, coverage, and settlement are determined solely by your insurer and subject to the terms of your individual policy.
Yes. All jewellery from our international suppliers can be provided with an insurance valuation certificate upon request. We can also arrange an independent professional valuation for engagement rings and bespoke pieces. In addition, we are happy to organise and coordinate valuations for estate jewellery or any of your other precious items.
Specify Jewellery Items on Your Insurance Policy
(Note: Policy terms vary by insurer and should always be checked.)
Higher-value jewellery items usually need to be individually specified (also called scheduled) on your policy.
Specifying an item ensures it is covered for loss, theft, or accidental damage, both at home and away.
Jewellery that is not specified may only be covered up to a relatively low overall limit under standard contents cover.
Obtain a Recent Independent Valuation
Insurers typically require a professional valuation from a qualified jeweller or professional jewellery valuer.
Valuations should be reviewed and updated every 2–3 years, as jewellery values can change with metal and gemstone markets (always check your insurer’s requirements).
Provide your insurer with the valuation certificate and purchase receipt when the item is first insured.
Photograph and Safeguard Documentation
It is recommended to keep clear, high-resolution photographs of each piece, including details such as settings, engravings, or identifying marks.
Store purchase receipts, certificates, and valuations securely, either digitally or in a safe physical location.
Confirm Worldwide Cover
Many New Zealand insurance policies offer worldwide cover, but this often applies only to specified items.
If you travel with your jewellery, confirm the scope of cover with your insurer in advance.
Understand Wear and Tear Exclusions
Insurance generally does not cover wear and tear, gradual deterioration, or damage caused by poor maintenance.
Some policies may exclude damage to stones or settings if they have not been properly maintained.
Annual Jewellery Inspections
Some insurers encourage or require regular inspections by a professional jeweller to confirm that settings are secure.
Orsini offers complimentary inspection and cleaning services, which can help support these insurance requirements.
As insurance policies differ between providers, we recommend checking your individual policy to confirm the level of cover that applies to you.
Yes. All Orsini jewellery is covered by a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty operates alongside your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and does not limit those rights. Please note that normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, or damage resulting from inadequate maintenance is not covered.
In addition to your warranty, we offer lifetime complimentary cleaning and complimentary jewellery inspections, allowing our experts to assess your piece and advise on any maintenance or repairs needed to protect its long-term integrity.
For the best ongoing care, we recommend that any repairs or alterations be carried out by Orsini or an approved jeweller, as third-party work may affect warranty or insurance coverage.
We are always here to assist with the care of your treasured pieces. Please visit us in-store or contact our team at any time for personalised support.
Yes. You are welcome to bring your Orsini jewellery into our Parnell boutique, where our team will be happy to assist. Complimentary cleaning is available for all Orsini pieces. If your jewellery requires professional polishing or re-rhodium plating, additional charges may apply.
If you're unable to visit our Orsini boutique for a professional clean, there are a few simple steps you can take at home to help keep your jewellery sparkling.
For pieces featuring diamonds, rubies, sapphires, topaz or tourmalines, we recommend soaking your jewellery in a bowl of warm water mixed with a small amount of unscented dish soap. After a few minutes, gently brush the piece with a soft-bristled toothbrush, paying special attention to the underside of the setting, where oils and residue tend to build up. Take care not to scrub too firmly, as this could scratch the metal or compromise the setting. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry with a soft cloth. Softer gemstones such as emeralds, opals, and pearls require extra care. We recommend gently wiping these pieces with a clean, dry microfiber cloth, avoiding any moisture or cleaning products.
At Orsini, we have specialised cleaning equipment, you're warmly welcome to bring your jewellery in and allow our team to clean it professionally for you.
If you're ever unsure, please don’t hesitate to contact the Orsini team. Our jewellery experts are always happy to provide guidance and ensure your pieces are cared for with the attention they deserve.
At Orsini, our jewellery is handcrafted using precious metals, exquisite diamonds, and rare gemstones. To help preserve the beauty and integrity of your pieces for years to come, we recommend the following care practices: It's recommended to have fine jewellery inspected by a professional regularly. Orsini experts check for loose stones, worn prongs, or metal fatigue that may not be visible to the untrained eye.
- Remove your jewellery before swimming in a pool as chlorine can damage metals.
- Keep jewellery away from cosmetics: Always take off your jewellery before applying lotions, perfumes, self-tanners, or other beauty products that may contain oils or chemicals which can dull gemstones and erode finishes.
- Remove before using cleaning products: Household chemicals, detergents, and other harsh solutions can harm both the metal and stones in fine jewellery.
- Take off during physical activities: To avoid bending, scratching, or damaging your jewellery, remove pieces before exercising, lifting heavy objects, or engaging in hands-on tasks such as manual work, gardening, housework.
- Store thoughtfully: Remove your jewellery before going to bed to prevent accidental loss or tangling. Store pieces individually in soft pouches or lined jewellery boxes. Keeping items separate prevents scratching — especially important for delicate gems like pearls and opals. Always clasp necklaces before storing to minimise tangling.
- Avoid Ultrasonic Cleaners for Certain Gems: Ultrasonic cleaning is suitable only for certain gemstones such as diamonds. We recommend checking with the Orsini team before using at-home machines.
- Pearls require extra care: Pearls are delicate and should never be soaked or exposed to perfumes, makeup or hairspray. Wipe them with a soft cloth after wearing and store them flat. We recommend restringing pearls every 1–2 years if worn regularly.
Sarah's tip: Jewellery is the Last Thing You Put On and the First Thing You Take Off This age-old rule helps prevent exposure to hairspray, makeup, sunscreen, and perfume. “I believe that jewellery should be the final step in your routine in the morning and the first thing removed at the end of your day.”
