From Italy to New Zealand, at Orsini we’re passionate about helping people across the country and beyond, to find the right piece to last a lifetime.
Our commitment to craftsmanship, high-quality metals and gems, ethically sourced diamonds and expertise are what set us apart. We ensure those we work with here in New Zealand to create custom engagement rings and timeless heirloom pieces share the same values as we do.
Orsini director Sarah Hutchings has been travelling to Italy for more than a decade, visiting countless jewellery fairs and meeting with the world’s best jewellers. This dedication has enabled us to bring the most exceptional Italian artisans to New Zealand through their best pieces, hand picked every year in Italy.
Orsini jewellers each have over 40 years of experience in creating jewellery, having completed traditional jewellery apprenticeships as well as trade certificates in jewellery. Alongside GIA (Gemological Institute of America) certification and specialist diamond grading training through the GAA (Gemological Association of Australia), our jewellers are also members of the Goldsmith Guild of New Zealand and abide by the Jewellers & Watchmakers of New Zealand Inc. Code of Ethics.
The in-house team at Orsini comprises trusted family members. Sarah’s nephew, Harry Barker, is a qualified diamond grader with additional GIA training, while Sarah’s sister-in-law Jan is also part of the sales team. Sarah’s husband Kent is co-director of Orsini and assists with finance, currency and system support. Kent’s father, who was a jeweller himself, helped to inspire Sarah’s decision to bring fine Italian jewellery to New Zealand when he introduced her to the Vicenza Jewellery Fair in Northern Italy.
