The Most Iconic Engagement Rings of All Time
The most iconic engagement ring design of all time is the famous oval blue sapphire with a diamond pavé surround.
For anyone too young to remember, that was Princess Diana’s ring long before Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton.
Lady Diana Spencer and Charles, Prince of Wales, became engaged in February 1981. Her engagement ring features 14 solitaire diamonds elegantly surrounding a 12-carat oval blue Ceylon sapphire, set in 18k white gold. Created by jeweller Garrard, it is a stunning piece truly made for a princess.
While sapphire halos define classic royal style, other iconic eras are celebrated for sleek, step-cut silhouettes like emerald cut engagement rings, which offer a timeless blend of Art Deco glamour and modern sophistication.
